The schedule is a bit crazy this week and there's been little time to sit back and blog.  But while looking for some inspiration for a client's living room I came across this image that I saved forever ago (I don't even remember where I originally found it) and it made me stop and take a deep breath... I just had to share the serenity with you!

It has it all... a gorgeous traditional ceiling treatment, an old fashioned stove with amazing hood, sleek modern refrigerators with great texture, crisp white cabinetry and a country, rustic island to die for.  They've combined so many different looks and styles but brought them together in the most beautiful and inspiring way.  I love it!

plum pretty sugar

When I was looking for gifts for my bridesmaids this past Spring, I very happily stumbled upon Plum Pretty Sugar and their beautiful collection of women's robes.  I had been looking for something comfortable for me and all of my girls to get ready in together and couldn't resist the playful, pretty colors and patterns in their selection.  So, that was that, I ordered a bunch in different colors immediately and it was the best decision I could have made.  The girls (and mom) loved the gifts and I got some great "getting ready" photos from the day of my wedding!

Not only does Plum Pretty Sugar make lovely "loungerie", they also have a whole line of bedding and curtains in their gorgeous patterns.  These fabrics add such a beautiful, feminine touch to a room and really bring life into a space.  Here are a few of my favorites, but check out their whole line here!

Happy Friday! Our project for the week is to find inspiring built-ins for a client. Im envisioning beautiful walnut live-edge shelving framed with crisp white architectural details. Also, loving the more modern cubbie shelves rather then traditional long narrow ones.

Although it may still be 83 degrees in New York today, I'm getting more and more excited for fall.  There is nothing better than throwing on an oversized sweater before heading out to see the changing colors and feel the crisp, cool breeze blowing through your hair.  Fall is by far my favorite season... so I hope it gets here soon!

an exciting week...

Ariana and I would like to give a very big thank you to Holly from Decor8 for featuring some of our design work on her amazing blog!  We are so grateful that she took the time to look at our portfolio and write about The Elegant Abode.  She is such an inspiration to so many bloggers and we hope to have even half the success she's had some day!  Please take a moment, if you will, to head over there and check out the post!

We would also like to mention that our website, The Elegant Abode, has officially gone live!  After months of blood, sweat and tears (okay, maybe I'm being a bit overdramatic) we finally have a spot to call "home" on the web.  There you will find info on our design firm, portfolio and ourselves.  All of our photographs were taken by the very talented and patient, Ilenia Martini and our website was done by a good friend and amazing graphic designer, Lana Molodtsova.  Thank you lovely ladies so much for all of your help and hard work!  We truly appreciate it!

I love the simplicity of this space.  It may lack color, but the materials and the textures of the pieces more than make up for it.  Beautiful.

Everyone loves to be in the kitchen....its where the heart of every home is. My personal favorite is an all white kitchen....its classic, crisp and can be updated and changed with colorful appliances or seasonal decor. Notice that every kitchen below keeps their palette bright and white but incorporates woods and natural fibers to warm up the spaces. Below are some of my favorites.

Love the extended cabinets to the crown molding. They kept a simple white palette with the counters and cabinetry. The seagrass chairs bring a change of texture and warmth to the space.
